This is a dynamic, year-round outdoor mechanic position with competitive pay and a well-rounded benefits package. The intermediate Lift Mechanic is responsible for performing all routine maintenance procedures under the guidance of the maintenance manager and senior mechanics. The incumbent will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair of the assigned lifts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and perform routine, emergency and preventative lift maintenance on Resort lifts and activities to ensure a safe and efficient environment for all Resort guests. Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance programs and capital projects.

  • Maintain facilities and equipment to ensure safe and efficient work environment.

  • Take a lead role in troubleshooting and repair of assigned lift machinery.

  • Actively involved in lift mechanical emergency procedures and time dependent repairs.

  • Responsible for the scheduling of team members, completing performance reviews and handling all disciplinary actions.

  • Ability to prioritize according to departmental goals.

  • Must work efficiently in a team oriented environment.

  • Document repairs, labor and materials accurately on work orders.

  • Assist Lift Maintenance Manager in hiring, researching and ordering parts.

  • Develops and documents lift maintenance procedures and protocols

  • Coordinate projects, analyze repairs/ solutions needed, and collaborate effectively within the Lift Electrical, Lift Operation, and other Mountain Operation departments.

  • Other functions /duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 5 years Lift Maintenance experience.

  • 3 years proven competency in general mechanics.

  • Previous leadership role experience.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Must have adequate computer skills to complete the functions of the job. Typical programs include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lift Access Program Fluent in all aspects of the English language.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to work efficiently at heights 100 feet

  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions in a harsh environment.

  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.

  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.

  • Must have advanced ski or snowboard skills.
