This position supports the Clinical Contracting Managers and Directors in organizing, maintaining, and negotiating managed care contracts and ad hoc contracting projects. May negotiate low-volume or small payer and single case agreements, conduct reimbursement analysis, or evaluate potential payers. Also, designs, creates and maintains a variety of workflows, documents, and systems to manage, store, and track managed care contracts and rates.
This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.
Supports the Clinical Contracting Managers and Directors in organizing, maintaining, and negotiating managed care contracts and ad hoc contracting projects.
Designs, creates, and maintains a variety of workflows, documents, and systems to manage, store, and track managed care contracts and rates.
Assists in filing of managed care contracts including hard and soft copy documents.
May negotiate single-case agreements with payers not currently contracted.
May negotiate low-volume or small payer contracts with payers.
May create and distribute contract rates and fee schedules to various parties according to contract specifications.
May conduct reimbursement analysis to determine financial benefits.
May conduct analyses of potential payers to assess potential business compatibility.
Provides assistance to Clinical Contracting Managers and Directors on large contract negotiations, such as assisting with analyses or submitting amendments.
Maintains current knowledge of appropriate contractual provisions and of government regulations related to the establishment and maintenance of contractual arrangements.
May represent contracting department at meetings.

Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
The incumbent generally follows departmental guidelines when supporting the Clinical Contracting Managers and Directors in organizing, maintaining, and negotiating managed care contracts and ad hoc contracting projects.
Ability to work with Clinical Contracting Managers and Directors if problems occur during fulfilment of essential functions or when workflow falls outside departmental guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health Care Administration, Accounting, Nursing, or equivalency.
Three years of related experience.
