Description
Summary: The Field Trainer is responsible for understanding the Company’s business needs and ensuring strong partnerships with internal customers to support and deliver applicable training content, make strategic recommendations to enhance organizational performance and support an ongoing learning culture. The position requires partnership with the Field Training Manager and Training Development Manager(s) to develop and implement various training programs. The incumbent will need to understand adult learning principles to effectively deliver and implement training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate training with hiring and training demands of the market(s) and focus area(s) assigned
Facilitate training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, leadership training, refresher training, etc.
Test trainees to measure programs and evaluate effectiveness of training
Support all aspects of compliance; including but not limited to Alcohol, Tobacco and Food Service
Report on progress of employee’s completion of training programs
Recognize unique training opportunities by partnering with leaders to understand needs as related to specific work situations and skills requiring employee improvement, such as better understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, technologies and human resources
Partner with the Field Training Manager and Training Development Manager(s) to create programs to address the opportunities
Collaborate cross functionally on the design and development of training materials
Strive to ensure consistent standards for key training and development initiatives
Up to 75% travel required; occasional weekend/evening work required to accomplish training
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications: Experience, Competencies and Education
College degree or relevant experience preferred
Demonstrated success as a leader with 5 years of training experience preferred
ServSafe Certification preferred
Ability to obtain ServSafe Instructor/Proctor Exam certification required
Demonstrated front-line leadership in design, formulation and delivery of training policies, programs and schedules
Strong internal and external customer focus
Food service/Restaurant experience (training or management experience) preferred
Ability to drive activity to measureable results
Independent self-starter with strong teambuilding, critical thinking and relationship skills
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
Creative approach to implement new ideas and concepts
Strong public speaking skills, with ability to present to large groups and tailor message to audience
Ability to communicate and interact with other departments, including Field Operations
Attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Retail and Point of Sale systems experience preferred
